Community Support for 1088 Fire Survivors – Donation Update
February 13, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to express its gratitude to the organizations, businesses, and individuals who generously supported those displaced by the fire at 1088 Noble House. Thanks to your kindness, we have raised a total of $32,825.00 to assist affected residents.

We extend a special thank you to the following donors for their financial contributions:

  • Private individuals who contributed anonymously

Acknowledging Non-Financial Support

Beyond financial assistance, we also recognize and appreciate the many individuals, businesses, and community organizations that stepped up to provide food, clothing, household essentials, temporary accommodations, and emotional support during this difficult time. Your generosity and care have made a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected, showing the strength and compassion of our community.

Cheque Pickup Details

Residents who were identified as the legal head of household when completing intake documentation with the Canadian Red Cross can pick up their cheque at City Hall, B-Side, beginning today, Thursday, February 13. Please bring valid identification for verification.

Final Notice on Donations

The City of Iqaluit will no longer be accepting donations on behalf of the displaced families. We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of community support and appreciate everyone who contributed in any way.
