June 2, 2020 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) – Mayor Bell joins the call for police body cameras.

 

I am joining Pond Inlet MLA David Qamaniq, Nunavut Senator Patterson and MP Mumilaaq Qaqqaq in the call for police body cameras here in Iqaluit and throughout Nunavut.

It is about the safety of everyone involved and with this addition to the uniform; we will help protect the service members and citizens at the same time.

On Tuesday June 9th I will bring this forward to Iqaluit council in hopes that councillors will make a motion of support and I will also be seeking a resolution of Nunavut Association of Municipalities executive board in the coming weeks.
