City of Iqaluit Council has initiated a Public Hearing relating to the redevelopment of 810 Aviq Street (Big Racks), which includes a four (4) storey building with Residential/ Offices.
Development Permit Application No. DP 20-045:
A Public Hearing will take place on April 19th at 6:00 PM. Public Hearing participants must register with the City of Iqaluit before April 15th, 2021 at 4:00PM
WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 20-045?
On March 16th 2021, the Planning & Development Committee of the Whole (PD COW) recommended to Council the approval of a four (4) storey mixed-use building with ground floor commercial and thirty (30) residential dwelling units (see Site Plan and Elevations below). A Council motion on March 23rd required that a Public Hearing take place. This Development Permit application includes a variance to increase the permitted maximum building height from two (2) storeys to four (4) storeys and from 11 metres to 13 metres.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE PUBLIC HEARING?
A Public Hearing will be held on April 19th at Council Chambers (6:00pm). Council will decide on DP 20-045 at a date to be determined (TBD).

Location: Council Chamber, Call in or Livestream
