Summer Student Employment Opportunity
May 9, 2024 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is hiring summer students. The City looks to offer meaningful work experience that allows students to earn valuable on-the-job training in the municipal government environment. Multiple positions are available within various City of Iqaluit departments.

If you are interested in applying for the City of Iqaluit’s Summer Student Employment Program, you will need to provide the following documents to the Human Resources department:
  • A copy of your most up-to-date resume
  • Proof of Enrollment for post-secondary students
  • Summer Student Application Form (Click here)

How to Apply
  • Online: Eligible applicants can apply online by filling out the Summer Student Application Form and submitting their resume and proof of enrollment to hr@iqaluit.ca.
  • In Person: Eligible applicants can apply in person by dropping off all required documents to the City of Iqaluit Human Resources Department at City Hall (1085 Mivvik – Side B).
Eligibility
To be eligible for one of the available positions, applicants must be:
  • Between the ages of 15 and 30 years old
  • A student currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary program
Important Dates
Eligible candidates may apply until June 30th, 2024. Start dates vary, depending on the position, with some jobs starting in May.

As per Article 23 of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, priority will be given to Nunavut Land Claim Beneficiaries who meet the criteria.
