Update on Water Distribution – Businesses
October 21, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit would like to notify business owners that starting Thursday, October 21, 2021, the City of Iqaluit will commence delivery of river water to businesses.  Business owners must contact the water hotline at 867-979-5603, to register their business for delivery. 

Deliveries of water will occur between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00am, Monday to Friday. 

Businesses must have their own water storage containers on-site, ready for filling.  Please ensure that these containers are clean and accessible. 

After water has been supplied at their business location, business owners will be responsible for bringing their filled water jugs back into their establishments after the jugs have been filled. 

Residents are asked to use caution when driving and walking near the water trucks, and to watch for ice buildup in the event of spills. 

Business owners and residents are reminded that river water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to consumption, or use in food handling.
