Water Treatment Plant Repairs Continue
March 24, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The repairs to the Iqaluit Water Treatment Plant continue. City staff are currently in ongoing discussions with the territorial Chief Public Health Officer. The City has presented the work done to date, and is now answering some routine questions about plant operations.

It is the City’s desire to return to full water treatment plant operation, and this process is working exactly as designed. We will continue to work with our partners at the Chief Public Health Officer’s office, so that when we do return to full service, Iqalummiut can be confident that every step has been taken to protect the safety of our drinking water.

The City will update the public when the treatment plant is ready to return to full operation.
