Water Treatment Plant Update – Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Remains In Place
May 9, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit wishes to remind residents that the precautionary boil water advisory for all of Iqaluit –both piped and trucked water services- remains in place.

Following the recommendation received on May 9, 2023 from the Chief Public Health Officer, a second round of confirmatory tests are now being conducted throughout the water distribution system. Testing and receiving results can be time consuming, and the City thanks residents for their continued patience.

The City’s internal testing continues to show that the water treatment plant is functioning as designed. When external testing has been completed, we will provide further information.
