WINNERS OF AQUATIC CENTER CHALLENGE HELP CELEBRATE NUNAVUT’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY
The City is pleased to announce the winners of the Nunavut 20 Challenge – a City event to help celebrate Nunavut’s 20th anniversary. To enter, participants had to complete 20 kilomtres in either running, swimming or rowing at the Aquatic Centre during the month of April. Winners, who were drawn at random from all entries, and who will each receive a one-month pool/fitness pass to the Aquatic Centre, are asked to pick-up their prize at the Guest Services Desk.
Winners include: Noah Ejesiak, Febbie Ncube, Tyler Macintyre, Lily Zhang, Mark Rogulski, Gregory Connors, Krista Thompson, Mike Harttrup, Patricia McNeil, Gillian Bourke, Nikki Nweze, Troy Rhoades, Janine Budgell, Christina Mortensen, Shunxin Zhang, Sean Clark, Sarah Vaughan, Joanne Clark, Natalie Hanczak and Victoria Ralph.
There were also four prizes of a one-month pass to the Aquatic Centre as well as a massage presented for each of the following areas:
- Farthest run/row – Tina Nyela with 304.65 kilometres
- Farthest swim – Sherri Young with 21.25 kilometres
- Most consistent run/row – Kearon Nyandoro who came to the facility 22 times
- Most Consistent Swim: Wei Zang who came to the facility 21 times
In addition, the Iqaluit Breakers Swim Team also participated in the Nunavut 20 challenge, with the team swimming a total of 200.6 kilometres in the month of April. Four of the thirteen team members involved completed the 20 kilometres of swimming.
The City would like to thank everyone who participated in the events for helping to celebrate Nunavut’s 20th Anniversary.
