Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre is located at the AWG Complex and is open on a drop-in basis during non-school hours. The YC offers a safe, fun and substance-free atmosphere where youth can participate in a host of activities ranging from games, sports, cooking, skill-building workshops and community volunteering. The YC also offers a healthy snack program each day after school. Staff are available to help students with homework and to also assist with resume writing and job applications. The Youth Centre is available to all youth aged 13-18 (see schedule for times.)
The YC was established as a not-for-profit in October 2001 as a legacy project from the 2002 Arctic Winter Games.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
We are always looking for positive adult and young adult (19+) volunteers to support the running of the YC. If you feel that you have an important message, a cool talent or skill that you would love to share with the youth, or just want to give back to the community by volunteering your time at the Centre on occasion, we would love to talk to you!
