Road Closure – Qaqqamiut Road (Upper Base Garage to Green Acres)

The City of Iqaluit would like advise residents of a road closure on Qaqqamiut Road from Upper Base Garage to Green Acres from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 30, 2021 to allow for the installation of a new culvert.

There will be no through-way traffic at this point, and all residents who intend to use the road in Upper Base will need to go through the Plateau subdivision.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks you for your understanding.

The City of Iqaluit has potable bottles of water available for residents on Thursday, October 28th and Friday, October 29th, 2021.

- Nakasuk School parking lot, from 5:00PM to 7:30PM
- AWG Complex parking lot, from 5:00PM to 7:30PM

Household limits will be in effect throughout the water distribution. We recommend that this water be used for consumption only.

Government of Nunavut Public Health recommends that residents on piped services (utilidor) clean and flush their residential water system.

This applies to residents and businesses on piped services (utilidor.) These resi-dents are asked to ensure they are flushing their home systems between October 28 and October 30th. Flushing will occur by neighbourhood:

2022 Business License Renewals

2022 Business License Renewals

The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that it is the time of year for business licence

renewals for the 2022 calendar year.

 

Business owners are encouraged to submit renewals in the online Iqaluit Business Licence system

before January 31st, 2022 to take advantage of a discounted renewal fee. Renewals received on

February 1st, 2022 and later, will be subject to the full renewal fee.

Halloween Activities

Halloween Activities

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that the City has not initiated a change to the date of this year’s Halloween activities. Trick-or-treating will occur on Halloween, Sunday October 31st. Municipal Enforcement officers will be on mobile patrol on Hal-loween during the afternoon and evening on Sunday.
