SANTA CLAUS PARADE FLOAT WINNERS

JOAMIE COURT LOT DISPOSAL AND BALLOT DRAW

The City is advising residents that the 25 available lots in the new Joamie Court subdivision will be disposed of in the following manner:

PLEASE ADJUST DRIVING TO ROAD CONDITIONS
The City would like to remind residents to monitor weather conditions, and adjust driving to road conditions.
During the spring, roads can become icy, and are more slippery to drive on. Residents are asked to lower their speed as well as allow for at least one car length between vehicles. Snow tires would also assist with traction.
The City continues to monitor road conditions, and will sand affected areas as required.
Please use caution, and drive carefully and appropriately for current road conditions.

CITY COUNCIL APPROVES 2019 BUDGET
NOVEMBER 27, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – On behalf of City Council, Mayor Redfern announced this evening that the City has approved the 2019 Operating Budget and Capital Spending Plan.
“City Council is pleased to approve the 2019 Budget, which is a balanced approach to help address the infrastructure deficit and off-set the costs of services to meet needs of our growing population,” said Mayor Redfern.

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS
NOVEMBER 22, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – The City of Iqaluit is looking for volunteer firefighters to join the Iqaluit Fire Department.
Benefits include continuous training, recognition and awards program, social events as well as worker’s compensation coverage and insurance coverage. Volunteers also receive uniforms and personal protective equipment.
If interested, applicants must:
 Be nineteen years of age or older;
 Have a minimum education of grade 10 or equivalent;
 Be a legal resident of Canada;

TO COMPLETE WEEK-END WORK: TEMPORARY WATER SHUT-DOWN AND BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR CORE AREA OCTOBER 30TH

OCTOBER 29, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – To complete the infrastructure repair on the main water line that began on the week-end, the City is advising residents in the addresses below that there will be a temporary shut-down of water on October 30th, 2018, from 6 AM to 8:30 AM.

CORE AREA TEMPORARY WATER SUSPENSION AND BOIL WATER ADVISORY FOR OCTOBER 23 

OCTOBER 19, 2018 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) – The City is advising residents in the Core Area, at the addresses below, that there will be a temporary disruption in water service Tuesday, October 23, from 4 PM to 2 AM Wednesday, due to scheduled maintenance and upgrades to the main water line.
