REMINDER: CAR WASH BAN EXTENDED

REMINDER: CAR WASH BAN EXTENDED
The City would like to remind residents that the water ban for car washes is still in effect. In addition, this ban is being extended to include all motor vehicles, as well as boats, whether for personal or commercial use.
This notice is issued in accordance with section 206(3) of Bylaw 200.
These measures are necessary, and are part of the City’s water management strategy. The City would like to remind residents to continue to be water wise, and conserve our water supply.

LARGE ITEM PICK-UP SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 17-21
The City would like to inform residents that this year’s large item pick-up program will be held for one week, from Monday June 17th until Friday, June 21st, 2019.
During this week, residents will be provided the opportunity to dispose of two appliances as well as three large household items that weigh 50 pounds or more, and are too large to fit into a black garbage bag.

NEW JIMMY KILABUK RUN TO BE HELD JUNE 22nd
The City is pleased to announce the first ever Jimmy Kilabuk run – a special community-wide event that will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the Arctic Winter Games (AWG) Complex. A bar-b-que and games will also be available.
For a minimum donation of $25, participants will be able to participate in one of the races available that day – a 21 kilometre (KM), 10 KM, 5 KM, 3 KM and/or

BRIDGE NOW OPEN ON ROAD TO NOWHERE

BRIDGE NOW OPEN ON ROAD TO NOWHERE
The City of Iqaluit is pleased to inform residents that the bridge on the Road to Nowhere has been repaired.
The bridge was closed to traffic last year due to structural concerns identified by an engineering consultant retained by the City. The City undertook structural
repairs to the abutments (structural supports), as well as improvements to erosion protection of the abutments, in order to address these concerns,
ensuring the safety of residents.
The bridge is now available for use.
