Clarification on Outdated Food Voucher Announcement

The City of Iqaluit would like to clarify recent confusion regarding the ICFI Food Voucher Program.

We have recently received a high number of calls and in-person visits following the re-circulation of a public service announcement dated October 9, 2024. While that notice was accurate at the time, it is no longer current.

Like other municipalities across Nunavut, the City of Iqaluit did not receive renewed funding through Indigenous Services Canada to continue the program. As a result, the ICFI Food Voucher Program ended on March 31, 2025.

We understand how important this support has been to many in our community. While the program is not active at this time, we want to reassure residents that the City continues to work closely with territorial and federal partners to explore future opportunities.
