The Recreation Department offers a variety of programming throughout the year. 

Winter Break Camp 2019

Youth Ball Hockey Program Spring 2019

Youth Ball Hockey is back for another season. Children ages 8-12 will participate in drills, practices & scrimmages. Led by a team of enthusiastic young hockey leaders, the focus will be on skill development and fun.  The June session will take place at the curling rink every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-7:00pm.  Registration is now open here based on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $60 per participant.   

 

Multisport Program (Spring 2019)

Spring Multisport Program: May-June 2019

Spring Multisport Sessions will take place on Saturday afternoons in May and June. This session will take place on the Indoor Turf at the AWG Arena!

Fees: $60 per child

KidFit! (June 2019)

KidFit! runs on Fridays in June from 5:30-6:30pm

Learn foundational fitness skills while having fun!  Gain cardiovascular and aerobic conditioning, strength, mobility and flexibilty!  Registration is now open here based on a first come, first served basis at a cost of $60 per participant.  

Iqaluit Lil’ Sluggers 2019

The Iqaluit Lil’ Sluggers (Tee-Ball) program is for children from ages 4 to 8 that want to learn how to play ball!  The focus of the program is on fun, team spirit & sharing the sport of baseball in a positive environment.

No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.  Youth are encouraged to bring their won equipment should they wish to.

Minor Soccer 2019

Youth Turf Minor Soccer starts soon! Kids aged 4-12 can sign up for this awesome soccer experience at the AWG Indoor Turf field in Spring 2019!

Qaumaniq Day Camp Program 2019

Summer Day Camp 2019 will run from July 2nd-August 23rd, 2019.

Online Registration is now open here. If you prefer not to register online, or need help setting up a MaxGalaxy Account, come see us at Recreation Reception at the AWG Arena.  

Camp Fees: $50.00 per week, per child. Lunch Supervision: $10.00 per day, per child (sold in weekly blocks.)

 

Summer Sports Camp Program 2019

Summer Day Camp 2019 will run weekly in July, starting July 2nd.  (No camp on July 9th).  Summer Sports Camp is for kids 10-14 years old.

Suilaaqivik Apex After School Children’s Program

For children ages 6-12, the Apex After School Children’s Program offers the children of Apex an opportunity to develop social skills and participate in recreational activities including sports, games, crafts, baking and a healthy snack program.  The program operates from 3:30-5:30 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays during the school year out of the Abe Okpik Hall.
