Baseball Field to Reopen on Monday, June 22nd

 

June 22nd, 2020 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

Iqaluit Recreation is pleased to announce that the Baseball Field will be reopening on Monday, June 22nd.  Recreation staff will be working to grade and line the field Monday morning to ensure that it is safe and ready to play. 

 

Those interested in renting the field can request rental times through Recreation’s online portal found at: https://cityofiqaluitrecreation.maxgalaxycanada.net/Home.aspx. A free Max Galaxy account will be required in order to request reservations. Please contact 979-5611 for assistance, or email recreation@iqaluit.ca.

 

Distancing measures and Covid-19 risk reduction guidelines as directed by the Chief Public Health Officer remain in effect. Requirements are subject to change as necessary. 

 

Residents are reminded that smoking and vaping are not permitted on Iqaluit Recreation property. Alcohol is not permitted without a permit.

 

A reminder to dog owners, dogs are not allowed within five metres of a Sports Field or Playground. Failure to do so may result in a fine of $50 to $100. If a dog defecates on any public or private property other than the property of its owner, the owner shall remove such feces immediately or may be fined $100 to $150. For more information, please refer to the Responsible Pet Ownership By-Law.

 

The AWG Indoor Sports Field will remain closed until further notice.
