City of Iqaluit reopen recreation facilities and programming

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation.

Iqaluit City Council state of emergency due to COVID-19 is no longer in effect as of 11:59 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021.

All City parks, playgrounds and outdoor recreation spaces have reopened.

The Arnaitok Arena is open and taking online bookings.

Aquatic Centre

The Aquatic Centre is now open for solo workouts in the gym and lane swimming.

Guests using the facility are required to wear masks at all times including during workouts, with the exception of being on the pool deck. Guests are also required to follow social distancing guidelines at all times.

Bookings can be made online or by phone. Reserving your session will allow the facility to maintain our limited capacity, which helps promote physical distancing and prevents the spread of COVID-19.
