COVID-19 and City of Iqaluit Update

 

The City of Iqaluit continues to work closely with the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health to monitor and respond as needed to the COVID-19 situation.

Recreation Facilities

To help ensure the safety and well-being of our Residents and Staff, The Elders Qammaq and the Makkuttukkuvik Youth Centre will be closed as of November 17th, 2020 until further notice.

The Volunteer Awards have been postponed until further notice.

The AWG and curling rink will be closed as of Wednesday, November 18th, 2020.

Aquatic Centre

The Iqaluit Aquatic Centre is no longer accepting bookings or drop-ins for the Fitness Centre and Pool and will be closed to the public as of Wednesday, November 18th, 2020.

If you have any questions about annual and monthly passes, please call Guest Services at 867-975 8544 or email aquaticcentre@iqaluit.ca.

City Services

All city facilities and workplaces will be closed to the public as of Wednesday, November 18th, 2020. Non-essential city staff will work from home.

Residents and businesses are to conduct business and make payments online or by phone. For assistance with payments, please contact the City Finance Department at accountsreceivable@Iqaluit.ca, 979-5609 or P.VanStrien@iqaluit.ca, 979-5665 for utilities.

The City of Iqaluit continues to provide essential services including water and sewer delivery, garbage pick up and emergency services (fire, ambulance, dispatch).
