Drinking Water Update – Additional Potable Water Available
The City of Iqaluit will have potable bottles of water available for residents on Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th at the following locations:
- Arctic Winter Games Arena Complex from 1:00PM to 3:00PM or until water is gone
- Nakasuk School parking lot from 1:00PM to 3:00PM or until water is gone
Residents will be provided with a maximum of 4- 4L jugs per household. These containers are reusable, and we encourage residents to keep them for future water storage and collection. Please use caution and pay attention to your surroundings while collecting water. We recommend that this water be used for consumption only.
Bottled water is arriving into Iqaluit on a daily basis so we ask that residents take for their immediate need, and not stockpile supplies so we can ensure that all residents have a sufficient supply of water.
The City would like to remind residents who require further assistance that they can contact Water hotline at 867-979-5603, between the hours of 9AM and 5PM, Monday through Friday.
The City would like to thanks residents for their patience and understanding during this difficult time. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Government of Nunavut for their assistance.
