Drive Cautiously During Wet Snow and Freezing Conditions

The City of Iqaluit reminds all residents to drive with caution as the recent wet snowfall, combined with near-freezing temperatures, is creating potentially slippery and icy road conditions.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, allow for extra travel time, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles to help prevent collisions. As road conditions may cause delays, we also ask all drivers to remain patient and courteous toward one another.

City road crews are actively working to manage conditions and maintain public safety. We ask all drivers to be mindful of crews and equipment operating on the streets.

The City will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as the situation evolves.
