Facility Update: End of Turf Season and Ice Installation
August 15, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the last day for turf use at the Arctic Winter Games Arena will be Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Following this date, the facility will be closed to allow for turf removal and ice installation. The ice surface is expected to be ready by September 19, ahead of the Arctic Winter Games selection camps taking place that weekend.

Ice rentals and full facility usage will begin on Monday, September 22, 2025.

The City thanks all residents, athletes, and user groups for their continued support and looks forward to welcoming the community back for the 2025–26 ice season.
