Iqaluit Wins ParticipACTION Community Challenge

July 22, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

 

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce that ParticipACTION has awarded Iqaluit the title of Nunavut’s Most Active Community as part of the 2025 ParticipACTION Community Challenge.

 

This exciting recognition comes with a $15,000 award to support the City's efforts in promoting physical activity through the Recreation Department. These funds will be used to enhance community-based physical activity initiatives and opportunities for residents.

 

The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is a national initiative that encourages Canadians to get active throughout the month of June in pursuit of being named Canada’s Most Active Community. The challenge is open to all communities and includes prizes for the most active community in each province and territory, in addition to a national grand prize of $100,000.

 

The City extends its sincere thanks to all residents, community groups, and organizations who participated and helped make this achievement possible.
