National Indigenous Peoples Day Events on June 21st, 2020
June 18th, 2020 – Iqaluit, Nunavut
The City of Iqaluit Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day with organized events on Sunday, June 21st, 2020.
We are excited to announce a Seal Skinning Contest. Residents are asked to submit a video to the City of Iqaluit Recreation Facebook page that displays the entire process of skinning and butchering of a seal, as well as show the quality of the skin. Entries will be accepted between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and a winner announced on Monday, June 22nd. Do not forget to tag it using #NIPD #Pilak.
We also encourage you all to take part in a NIPD Scavenger Hunt. Submit pictures from your day to recreation@iqaluit.ca by 4:00 PM to enter. The winner will be announced on Monday, June 22nd. We also encourage you to share your adventure with everyone on our City of Iqaluit Recreation Facebook page.
