New Year’s Eve Fireworks
December 21, 2023 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is pleased to announce two fireworks displays for City residents on New Year’s Eve.

The 6:00 pm display will be at Imiqtarviminiq Lake (Road to Nowhere, near the Masjid Mosque). This is a chance for people who might not stay awake until midnight, and gives the viewers a much closer view of the show.

The second show will be happening at midnight, from the breakwater near the Grind and Brew, and will feature the larger fireworks and the bigger displays.

The displays will be conducted by Baffinland employee Michael Salomonie, who has years of experience lighting up the Iqaluit skies. The Iqaluit Fire Department will have members on site as well, who will be assisting and training for their fireworks certification.

Iqaluit’s New Year’s Eve Fireworks are always a highlight of the year-end, and a great way to start the next year. Please celebrate the holidays safely and remember to look up at 6 pm and midnight on December 31st.
