Qaumaniq Summer Day Camp

June 24th, 2020 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit Recreation Department is pleased to announce this year’s Qaumaniq Day Camp.

As part of the COVID-19 measures to help prevent the potential spread of infection, there are significant differences to the how the day camp program will run this year. There may be additional changes guided by recommendations from the Chief Public Health Officer.

Qaumaniq Day Camp will be held entirely outdoors, except for the use of the Arctic Winter Games Arena where campers can use the washrooms and store their belongings.

The Day Camp will run on a half-day schedule divided into a morning and afternoon program. Children can only be registered for either the morning or afternoon, but not both, to allow more campers to register this year. Each group will have a maximum of twenty (20) children ages 6-12.

The Day Camp runs Monday to Friday. The morning program runs 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM; the afternoon program 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Parents are able to register their children for one-week blocks throughout the summer. The first camp date starts July 6th with registration beginning on June 29th at 1:30 PM. Subsequent weekly registrations can be made two Fridays prior to a Monday start.

Registration fees are $25 per week on a half-day program. It is required to create a free Max Galaxy account and register online at https://cityofiqaluitrecreation.maxgalaxycanada.net/Home.aspx.
