Santa Claus Parade

Join us on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 to kick off the holiday season with our annual Santa Claus Parade.

To be a part of the parade please register your float online at: https://cityofiqaluitrecreation.maxgalaxycanada.net/BrowseActivities.aspx

There is no fee to participate. Registration ends on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020.

There will be prizes for 1) Best in Show; 2) Most Holiday Spirit; and 3) Best Youth Float. Winners will be announced on Monday, December 7th. For the Santa Parade we have 3 prizes:

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no Santa Visit this year.

Qaumakuluit Holiday Contest

The annual Qaumakuluit Holiday Contest is open to all businesses and residents.

There is no need to register. To participate, have your lights and decorations on and ready from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020. Winners will be announced on Thursday, December 17th.

Holiday Themed Cookie Decorating Contest

New to this holiday season is the holiday-themed cookie decorating contest. This event is open to the public.

There is no need to register. To enter, send a photo of you and your decorated cookies through a direct message to the City of Iqaluit Recreation Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CityofIqaluitRecreation

Submissions are accepted from December 19th to 20th. Winners will be announced on Monday, December 21st, 2020.
