Trucked Service Delay – Temporary Staffing Levels

September 27, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit is advising residents that there are significant delays in trucked services due to temporary staffing shortages.

At this time, water delivery is extremely limited, and sewer service is temporarily unavailable. These limitations are expected to affect service delivery throughout the weekend.

The City is actively working to restore additional capacity as more staff become available. In the meantime, residents are asked to conserve water and limit wastewater output where possible.

We recognize the inconvenience this causes and thank residents for their continued patience and understanding.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery, the City is hiring trucked services drivers and other positions within the Public Works department. For information on career opportunities, please visit www.iqaluit.ca/careers or contact Human Resources at hr@iqaluit.ca.

For urgent water delivery or waste removal concerns, please contact City Dispatch at 867-979-5650.
