Water Shut Down and Boil Water Advisory in Core Area
January 29, 2021 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

Please be advised of a water shut down in the Core Area on Friday, January 29, 2021 from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow for a repair to the water infrastructure.

Location of water interruption: 157, 159, 161, 163, 165, 166, 168, 170, 183, 185a to f, 187 a to f, 187 a to f, 189 a to f, 190, 191 a to f, 192, 243, 350.

The City of Iqaluit is issuing a boil water advisory for these residents.

This is a precautionary measure due to a break in the water line during a repair to our water infrastructure.

The City recommends that all water used for consumption and dental hygiene is brought to a rolling boil for a minimum of one full minute. Water can boiled in a pot over the stove, allowed to cool and stored in a covered container or refrigerated for later use.

The City of Iqaluit will release a Public Service Announcement when the boil water advisory is lifted.
