Fire Response Update - Evening

The Iqaluit Fire Department continue to monitor the location of today’s structure fire near Capital Suites. The bulk of the firefighting is complete; they remain on scene to monitor for hot spots or any additional combustion.

Some of the roadblocks in the area near Capital Suites will remain in place. The area is unsafe due to the large amount of water and ice created by today’s firefighting response. It is anticipated that these roadblocks will remain in place until early next week. Please do not walk or drive past the roadblocks.
