Road Closure Update – North of North Filming

March 2, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that due to inclement weather, the previously scheduled road closures for the filming of North of North have been rescheduled.

The road closure for Simonie Michael Lane, originally planned for March 2 and 3, will now take place on March 3 and 4, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

February 27, 2026 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a complete road closure of portions of Jack Anawak Street and Niaqunngusiariaq Road on March 3 and 19, 2026.

Jack Anawak Street (between Jose Kusugak Lane and Niaqunngusiariaq Road) and Niaqunngusiariaq Road (between Jack Anawak Street and John Amagoalik Lane) will be closed to traffic.

This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of residents during the filming of scenes for the “North of North.”

October 24, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents that Tasilik Street will be closed to all traffic beginning Saturday, October 25, 2025, to allow for essential upgrades to the water and sewer infrastructure.

This closure is expected to remain in effect until Monday, November 10, 2025.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a road closure on John Amagoalik Lane in Apex, from September 5 to 12, 2025.

This closure is required to safely facilitate cemetery upgrades, which include culvert installations and ditching work.

The City of Iqaluit would like to advise residents of a temporary road closure on Sinaa Street from Wednesday, July 23 to Monday, July 28, 2025. This closure is necessary to prepare the roadway for paving work.
