The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents about an upcoming infrastructure upgrade involving drainage improvements along the north side of Federal Road. This essential work will help improve drainage and stabilize the surrounding environment.

Temporary road closures will begin on October 26, 2024, and the project is expected to be completed by October 30, 2024.

The City of Iqaluit would like to inform residents that the construction of the new Apex Bridge, originally set for completion by October 20, has been delayed until November 10, 2024.

The delay is due to unexpected issues with the ground underneath the bridge, which required extra work to ensure a strong and lasting foundation. Some rain delays have also added time to the project.

This is to accommodate the gathering for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and the subsequent Reconciliation Walk.
