Iqaluit Waterways Clean up Event - NEW DATE SEPTEMBER 4
AUGUST 23, 2019 (IQALUIT, NUNAVUT) The City of Iqaluit and the Qikiqtani Inuit Association invite residents and businesses to participate in the Iqaluit Waterways Clean up on Friday, August 30th.

REMINDER: CAR WASH BAN EXTENDED
The City would like to remind residents that the water ban for car washes is still in effect. In addition, this ban is being extended to include all motor vehicles, as well as boats, whether for personal or commercial use.
This notice is issued in accordance with section 206(3) of Bylaw 200.
These measures are necessary, and are part of the City’s water management strategy. The City would like to remind residents to continue to be water wise, and conserve our water supply.
EARLY DETECTION OF FROZEN WATER LINES SAVES TIME AND REDUCES COSTS
The City would like to remind home owners that they are responsible for monitoring their homes for any sign of frozen water pipes, and to notify the City’s Public Works and Engineering Department as soon as possible. For rental units, residents are asked to let their landlord know of any issue regarding frozen pipes.
NEW CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER APPOINTED
At the March 12 Council meeting, Council passed the first and second reading of By-law 875 to appoint Ms. Amy Elgersma as the Chief Administrator Officer for a five year term.
REMINDER TO REPORT WATER ISSUES/PREPARING FOR WATER EMERGENCIES
The City would like to remind residents to please notify the Department of Public Works and Engineering immediately for any issues regarding loss of water or frozen pipes at their residence. Early notification will help to quickly address the issue.

INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIRS AT ASTRO-HILL COMPLEX CONTINUE - ACCESS ROAD NOT ACCESSIBLE
Alternative parking required for AstroHill Tenants and Brown Building Employees
The City is advising residents and guests at the Astro-Hill Complex, which includes the Eight- Storey and Six-Storey apartment buildings, the W.G. Brown Building, as well as the Frobisher Inn Hotel, that in order to continue repairs to the main water system, the access road to this complex is being excavated and will not be accessible starting SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2019.
